Walter Anderson


A recipient of the Horatio Alger Award, Walter Anderson is a prolific author and playwright. He is a seasoned publishing executive who spent 32 years at Parade Publications where he held the positions of Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, and Editor-in-Chief. Prior to joining PARADE in 1977, Mr. Anderson held newspaper management positions with Gannett Publications in Westchester, New York. Previously, he was an investigative reporter whose articles appeared in New York magazines and others. A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1961-1966 and rose to the rank of sergeant. Mr. Anderson received an AA in Liberal Arts and Social Science from Westchester Community College and a BS in Psychology from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Mercy College for eight years and is now Trustee Emeritus.
