Shayla Burge

Shayla Burge is a Puerto Rican American Singer, Lyricist, Actress and Director. She earned her degree from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  Shayla has had the pleasure of working on original work with Grammy Award winning producer Edwin Ramos. She has directed workshops, reading and a variety of children theatre shows for Shakers Performing Arts Camp and Dream Studios Inc. As a performer, Shayla has starred in numerous productions gaining critical attention for leading roles as Effie White (Dreamgirls), Muzzy (Thoroughly Modern Millie)  and MotorMouth Maybelle (Hairspray).  Shayla loves performing but her passion is teaching children. “My main goal is that every child has a chance to get close to music - as a right - that as they have access to food, health, and education, they get the chance to have art and culture - especially music.” Dudamel
