George Street Playhouse is thrilled to announce casting for the upcoming run of Gene & Gilda, a new play about the relationship between film icons Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner.
Jordan Kai Burnett and Jonathan Randell Silver will both reprise their performances as Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder, respectively, from the play's world premiere run at Penguin Rep Theater.
Jordan Kai Burnett (Gilda Radner) is thrilled to be playing the great Gilda again, after originating the role in the world premiere of “Gene & Gilda” at Penguin Rep. JKB also played Gilda Radner in the NYC premiere of the play, “Not Ready For Primetime,” based on the inception of SNL. Jordan recently returned from their Las Vegas debut starring as the Emcee for Channing Tatum’s Magic Mike Live, which played at both the Hard Rock and legendary Sahara Hotel & Casino. Jordan was featured in the same role for Finding Magic Mike on HBOMAX. They originated the role of ‘Scissorhands’ in the Los Angeles hit “Scissorhands: The Musical” created by Bradley Bredeweg, which will debut in London, January 2025. Other favorite roles include: Denise “Found” (Los Angeles premiere, Dir: Moritz Von Stuelpnagel), Heather Mooney “Romy & Michele the Musical” (the 5th Ave), Whatshername “American Idiot” (West Coast Premiere, La Mirada) Jordan had the privilege of working side by side with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo on their "Romeo & Juliet Project.” Jordan is the co-creator of "Daisy & Jordan's Sunday Brunch of Shame,” with comedy partner, Tony Award winner, Daisy Eagan. Joe Brancato is directing the production, which will feature scenic design by Christian Fleming, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jose Santiago, sound design by Max Silverman, wig design by Bobbie Zlotnik, and dance consulting by Ryan Kasprzak.
