George Street Playhouse Announces 50th Season

George Street Playhouse has announced its 2023-24 productions. Edgar Herrera Named Managing Director of GSP

The Board of Trustees of George Street Playhouse have announced the appointment of Edgar Herrera as Managing Director, effective June 1, 2023. Mr. Herrera had previously been serving as Executive Director & Chief Development Officer of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra. Learn More

A WALK ON THE MOON Announces Fellowship Program With The Workshop for BIPOC Theatre Professionals

The new musical A Walk on the Moon at George Street Playhouse, running April 26th - May 21st, is partnering with The Workshop on a unique fellowship program for early career BIPOC-identifying theatre professionals. Fellows include Prince Bawuah (Sound), a New Jersey based African American sound designer/technician and a soon-to-be graduate of Montclair State University; Clare Fuyuko Bierman (Playwriting), a Japanese-Jewish playwright who recently received her MFA from New York University; and Gabriella Pérez (Directing/Choreography), a New York City based Latinx Jewish actor and choreographer whose work has been seen at Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Portland Center Stage, among others. These NJ arts venues examine provocative topics from superstorms to war

George Street Playhouse kicks off its season with the world premiere of “The Trial of Donna Caine,” a courtroom drama penned by Walter Anderson, former editor and CEO of Parade magazine. The show is helmed by the New Brunswick theater’s artistic director, David Saint, and is based on the real-life events surrounding a training accident that killed Marine recruits and put a spotlight on the recent move to open military combat positions to women.
