George Street Playhouse presents inaugural show at New Brunswick PAC
"Last Days of Summer," George Street Playhouse's inaugural show in its new home at New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, can be seen through Nov. 10.
The world premiere musical with a book and lyrics by Steve Kluger based on his best-selling novel tells the tale of a Brooklyn lad who develops a friendship with his favorite baseball player. Directed by Jeff Calhoun, who worked on Broadway productions of "Newsies," "Grease" and "Big River," the show features music by Grammy-winner and "Little Women" composer Jason Howland.
"I am so excited about this moving story and wonderful new musical score," George Street Artistic Director David Saint said in a statement. "'Last Days of Summer' is the perfect way for us to open our new home to our audiences."
